Friendly, welcoming and warm prenatal yoga classes in Northumberland
Pregnancy Yoga Classes in Morpeth
Why practice yoga during pregnancy?
In prenatal Yoga we work on building strength and stability in the legs, back, hips and pelvic floor. This helps support the changing body throughout pregnancy and can support mum to be during labour and beyond. We also work on relaxation and breathing techniques to calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety, this aids better sleep and supports mental wellbeing.
Practicing yoga also encourages mindfulness and inward focus, which can enhance the bond between mum and baby.
Our beautifully created prenatal classes are limited to 10 mums, who can connect, share thoughts and questions, experiencing their pregnancy journey together, creating community and friendship
What can you expect during a Pregnancy Yoga class?
This is suitable for anyone in their second or third trimester.
You don’t have to be flexible or have any prior yoga experience. The aim of prenatal yoga is to connect with your baby, build strength and stamina in preparation for labour and motherhood, and establish relationships with other mums on the journey with you.
We run our pregnancy yoga classes on Saturdays 10:30-11:30am in 5 week blocks
All new clients will also receive a little goodie bag at the first class.
Common questions you might have about Pregnancy Yoga
-
The first trimester is all about relaxation, resting and allowing your body to do the difficult job of creating a baby. We ask that you wait until your second trimester before coming to yoga classes, so that you are feeling more energised.

We have all equipment in the studio, so you don't need to carry anything. Please do bring some water to drink and any snacks you may need.
About your teacher
Hello,
I’m Christie, I’m the owner of Yoga Den, a yoga teacher and a mummy to a very energetic toddler.
I’ve practice yoga for over 20 years and have taught Yoga since 2017. I’ve led over 4000 hours of yoga classes consisting of vinyasa, yin, hatha and restorative classes, and have worked with lots of different people over the years.
I trained in prenatal yoga when I was pregnant in 2021, and I felt so lucky to be able to teach this beautiful session whilst expecting my first child. Whilst pregnant my body changed more than I ever thought it could, and my once dynamic practice shifted to be more gentle, kind and passive to my body.
I teach pregnancy yoga to fit with the mothers in my class, we work together to ensure the pace, timing, sequence and breath works for everyone, and I offer lots of modifications depending on the symptoms they may be feeling each week. There is also plenty of time to relax at the end as I recite poetry, guided meditations and visualisations.
The beautiful part of my role is seeing the pregnancies progress from teeny bumps to gorgeous, bouncing babies.
I feel very grateful to be able to deliver these classes in Morpeth.
I hope to welcome you to my studio soon.
Lots of love xx
